Teen who bullied McKenna Brown, leading to suicide, attended her funeral

The worst of the three teenage girls who bullied McKenna Brown attended her funeral, her mother, Cheryl Brown, said earlier this week during an appearance on Dr. Phil.

McKenna was just 16 years old when she took her own life in August, leaving a letter behind that does not mention the bullying, according to Cheryl.

"She left a letter that was very thoughtful and didn't call any of these people out," McKenna's mother, Cheryl, told Dr. Phil. "...I knew it had something to do with these girls."

Three unnamed girls have been suspended from their hockey league over the bullying claims.

McKenna was a hockey player who wanted to play at the University of South Florida, killing herself one day before starting her senior year of high school.

McKenna Brown was talking to her teammate's ex-boyfriend

The group of girls -- McKenna's hockey teammates who she considered friends -- reportedly wanted to "cancel" her when she started talking to the former boyfriend of one of them.

They reportedly revealed secrets McKenna told them, including that she was raped at 14, her mother said.

The girls bombarded McKenna with text messages telling her they would leave her without a single friend.

Cheryl believes the bullies are "unremorseful" and urges teenagers to speak up if they feel suicidal.
