Brooke Hogan, daughter of former professional wrestler, Hulk Hogan, gained mainstream fame in 2005 as a part of the reality series, Hogan Knows Best. The show, which lasted for four seasons, followed the members of the Hogan family as they interacted with each other and pursued interests in their personal lives.  While on the show, Brooke was focused mainly on her music, and her debut album, Undiscovered, was released during the show’s original run.  Undiscovered sold 30,000 copies during its first week, and has since gone on to sell well over a million copies.

When Hogan Knows Best was cancelled in 2007, Brooke was given her own spin-off series, Brooke Knows Best.  Unlike the family themed series, Brooke Knows Best, focused on Brooke living independently away from her family as she continued to work towards building a successful music career. Hogan’s sophomore album, The Redemption, was released in July 2009 – just a month before Brooke Knows Best was cancelled.  Unfortunately for Hogan, the album only sold approximately 50,000 copies, and never reached the success of her first project. The Associated Press’ Ron Harris gave the album a negative review and stated: “Brooke Hogan may know best on her reality show, but she should have known better than churning out the lackluster album “The Redemption.” It’s all tricks, and few treats. On most songs it’s hard to tell where the vocoder and production tricks end and Hogan’s own voice begins. This is bad, since Hogan has a perfectly fine pop music voice. But she lets the folks behind the mixing board overpower her to a fault.”

Since the release of her debut album, Hogan has not released any other music, and the buzz around her singing career has died down.  Although she once showed a lot of potential as a pop-artist, most of her work has since fallen into pop-music oblivion.  Here are five Brooke Hogan songs you’ve probably never heard.

5. “Low Rider Jeans”

Released in 2006 on her debut album, Undiscovered, “Low Rider Jeans” is a three-minute ode to the perfect pair of jeans.  As the song opens, Brooke asks if anyone has seen her “dunun-dununs,” to which she is met with silence.  As the song continues, Hogan sings “Low rider jeans/Hug a little tighter/Oh yeah/Low rider jeans/Hug a little lower/Oh no/You think I’m sexy cool/Just watch I’ll see ya drool/Stop lookin’ up and down/There’s more of you to go around,” it becomes clear that her initial question was referring to a pair of these must have jeans.

4. “Everything To Me”

“Everything To Me” was released in 2004 as Brooke Hogan’s debut single.  However, the album on which the single was meant to be included was never released.  In its first week of release, “Everything To Me” reached 97 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, but had disappeared completely within just a few weeks.  Although the song was never a huge success, it is probably one of Hogan’s better songs, and contains a sweet message about an all-encompassing love.  The song’s chorus: “I’m everything you want/I’m everything you need/and every little part of you, is a part of me/I’m everything you know/I’m everywhere you go/And I hope that you see/That your everything to me,” makes it clear that Hogan’s relationship literally means everything to her.

3. “BeDDable”

Released in 1999 on her sophomore album, The Redemption,  “BeDDable” sounds like a made-up offshoot of the term Bedazzle.  However, the word beddable is defined in Wesbter’s dictionary as “suitable for taking to bed,” and Brooke Hogan’s song hits the nail right on the head as she sings, ” Cuz you’re so good to me/boy you set me free/I want you to know I except you/I’m not gonna change/boy I’ll stay the same/I want you to know that I’ll be cool/Your incredible/sexual/beddable/beautiful, wonderful…”

2. “Beautiful Transformation”

Brooke Hogan’s debut album, Undiscovered, was all about showing listeners that she was no longer a little girl who needed to be protected from the world.  Prior to the album’s release, fans had only known Hogan as Hulk Hogan’s daughter and a member of the cast of the family’s reality show, Hogan Knows Best. The song, “Beautiful Transformation,” perfectly conveys the feeling of transforming from a girl to a woman as Hogan sings, “Like a butterfly changing into my own skin/And the tears I cry, by the latest sign to win/It’s that beautiful transformation I’m in.”

1. “My Space”

If it were still 2006, Brooke Hogan’s “My Space” would be the perfect song for an actual MySpace profile.  The uptempo, attention grabbing beat lets listeners know they are in for a treat as soon as they press play.  In just over three minutes, the song explores the idea of sharing physical space with someone, and what that could potentially lead to. As Hogan sings, “You got it/You got my space/You’re in my space/I opened up my door to you/There’s only room for two/Look what you’re invited to/Now what ya gonna do,” she lets everybody know that being invited into her space is an honor, and an opportunity that is not to be wasted.
