Billie Eilish Granted Restraining Order Against Obsessed Fan Who Keeps Showing Up At Her Parents

Billie Eilish filed for a restraining order earlier this week against an obsessed fan who has allegedly been showing up at her parents house on a regular basis during the COVID-19 lockdown. Just hours after her request, a judge granted the 18-year-old singer the restraining order until June 1.

According to TMZ, on Monday Eilish filed a petition for civil harassment prevention – with the help of law firm McPherson LLP – against Prenell Rousseau at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse in Los Angeles. Rousseau, 24, allegedly made his first appearance at Eilish’s parents’ house on Monday, May 4. At that time, he talked to Eilish’s father through the Ring camera and asked if the Grammy-winner lived there.

“I think I might have the wrong house, but does Billie Eilish live here?” said Rousseau.

Eilish’s father apparently told Rousseau that he had the wrong house, but then the alleged stalker showed up again later that night around 9:00 PM. When he came back a second time he was reportedly showing “erratic behavior.”

“While we waited for security, Mr. Rousseau remained on our porch, sat down and began to read a book, while also continuing to engage in a periodic monologue,” said Eilish. “My father repeatedly asked him to leave, but he refused.”

Over the next few days, Eilish says that Rousseau returned a total of seven times and attempted to gain entrance into the Eilish home. In addition to being an alleged stalker, the singer also claims that Rousseau ignored all social distancing guidelines and wasn’t wearing a mask or gloves.

Police have arrested Rousseau twice since he started showing up at the Eilish house uninvited, but he was never booked into jail because trespassing isn’t a violent crime. Due to COVID-19, police are trying to keep non-violent offenders out of jail.

Los Angeles courthouses are currently handling “only handling essential, time-sensitive proceedings” during the lockdown, according to a press release. A judge did grant Eilish’s request for a restraining order, and a June 1st hearing has been scheduled.

Until then, Rousseau must stay at least 200 yards away from Billie and her family, and he must cease all contact. Billie Eilish says that Rousseau was put on a bus so he could go home to New York, but she is afraid that he will come back.
